Taking Hold of the Promise
There is nothing more exciting; There is nothing more fulfilling; There is nothing more important than man's ability to stand on the promises of God. Our eternal existence; whether we spend the rest of our days in heaven or in hell lies on this truth. Many people think that God will allow them to dwell with Him in heaven if they are just good enough. They think that if their good out weighs their bad or if they do just one marvelous thing then they will be able to spend their eternity in heaven. What they don't realize is that God is perfect and the heaven He created is perfect. If He were to allow sinful man to enter heaven in his present condition, it wouldn't be heaven any longer. It would simply be a repeat of what we have seen here on earth. So coming close to perfection is simply not good enough. For our own good we need total perfection.
So you might say, if that is true then how will anybody make it into heaven? The answer to that question is that no one would make it on their own. For the Bible says:
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
But it also says:
"For God so love the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."(John 3:16)
This truth was foretold thousands of years before it ever happened and can be read in the Old Testament Scripture in the story of Abraham and Isaac. It was at this time that God foretold that He would one day come to earth as a man and save His people from their sins. Jesus actually died on the very mountain that Isaac was laid so long ago. It was said from that time on that "On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided," and that,"The Lord will provide Himself, a lamb, for the offering". The Hebrew sacrifices that had been made year after year all pointed to the work that Jesus was going to do. This mountain is also near the place that Jacob, later named Israel, received a spiritual dream and saw a stairway to heaven. The Bible also says that Jesus is the only way to heaven. That "stairway" was created when Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and then rose from the dead on the third day. That is why our Lord is known as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was to these three that He made His first promises of which we stand.
And now the Lord would like to extend His invitation to you to obtain His free gift of salvation. In order to receive this forgiveness you must first admit that you are a sinner. Second you must agree to turn from your sins and let the Lord take control of your life. You must believe that He did in fact die on the cross for your sins (the way the story of Abraham and Isaac points to). You must also believe that Jesus rose from the dead (not something hard for God to do). The Bible promises that if you believe these things and confess them to others you will be saved.
If you somehow know that these things are true, that knowledge was given to you by God. It is now time to set aside the things of this earth and take the things God has in store for you. Your life will never be the same and you will never regret it. To make your confession now you may call someone you know who is a believer and let them know. Or you may give us a call at

If you do not believe the words given above do not give up. God does not want you to just blindly accept something you really do not believe. Please go to God in prayer, in the name of His Son Jesus Christ. In Jesus name, let the Lord know that you are seeking Him. If you do even this, then it means that God is calling you and will answer you. Because the Bible says that no man can come to the Father unless He draws him. So be humble and not demanding, but ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you. If you are sincere about turning from your ways (this does not mean that you think you can stop sinning. It only means that you are determined not to sin with God's help), God will answer you and reveal Himself to you. So don't give up. Your eternity depends on it and God loves YOU.
