Pharaoh

The Biblical Holidays
When Yahuwah had Moses first appear to Pharaoh He had Moses tell Pharaoh to let His people go on a three day journey so that they may worship Him in the wilderness through a Jewish Dance Festival.  This can be understood when you look at the Hebrew word “chagag” that was translated as feast in the  King James version of the English bible. (Exodus 5:1-3)  Yahuwah was going to have His people set up the Biblical Feasts that would point to His great plan of Salvation and lead even other generations out of the slavery of sin.  However, Pharaoh refused to allow Yahuwah's people go to celebrate this feast.  Yahuwah knew this was going to happen and planned a series of miraculous plagues which would also become a part of the Biblical Feasts and reveal His presence and power to both Egypt and Israel.  Yahuwah punished Egypt not only with the plagues but also with the permanent removal of Israel from their midst.  The important point here is that Pharaoh, whether he realized it or not, was hindering the Israelites from celebrating this feast that would later become one of the Biblical Holidays.

All of the Biblical Holidays are now known as the Feasts of Yahuwah and Elohim's appointed times.  These Holidays are very important for they point to the very work that Yeshua (Jesus) did when He came to earth the first time as the suffering servant.  Not only that, but they also point to the work He will do as the conquering King.

Elohim Himself, (Emanuel, God with us) came to earth and died on the Feast of Passover.  Yeshua is known as our Passover Lamb.  He was buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and just as unleavened bread represents bread without sin, Yeshua is known as the Bread of Life and was buried without sin on the Feast of Unleavened Bread.  Just as the unleavened bread was something they took with them on their miraculous journey out of Egypt, so Yeshua is someone we take with us on our miraculous journey of Redemption.  In fact, He is our Redemption!  Elohim also rose from the dead on the Feast of First fruits.  He is the First Fruits of the Resurrected!  Fifty days later, Elohim came to earth when the Holy Spirit was first poured out on believers for the New Covenant Betrothal.  This occurred on the “Feast of Pentecost” or  Shavuot.

These Biblical Holidays are so important that Yahuwah made the month that Passover occurred on to be the first month of the year.  (Exo 12:1-2)  As pointed out above, it was on that day that Yeshua died on the cross and began the work of Yahuwah's great plan of Salvation.  All other months, instead of having names themselves, were to point back to that month.  For instance the second month was referred to as the second month after Abib.  The third month was the third month after Abib.  The name Abib has a special meaning also, as it relates to the stage of development of the Barley Harvest.  It is the Harvest of souls into Yahuwah's Kingdom that is important here.  Yahuwah's calendar always points back to that event where Yeshua died on the cross making it possible for Yahuwah to harvest His people into His Kingdom.  Yahuwah's heart has always been on gathering His people unto Himself through Yeshua!  That is why the Biblical feasts are so important.  They not only point to Yahuwah's Great Plan of Salvation, but also testify to the fact that Yeshua is our Jewish Messiah.

Satan continues to work through people to hinder Yahuwah's appointed times.  Through years of antisemitism even the church has participated in hindering the Biblical feasts.  By keeping people ignorant of the biblical feast satan has led millions to label them as “putting people under the law”.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.  The Feasts point to the work Yeshua did that took us out from under the law.  If He had not died on the cross for us we would have been crushed by the law because no one is able to keep it perfectly as expected by Yahuwah.  Being taken out from under the law does not mean that we no longer have to be obedient to Yahuwah's law.  On the contrary, the New Covenant is a promise that Yahuwah would place his law on our minds and write them on our hearts. (Jer 31:33) He never threw out the law. (Matthew 5:17-19)  By receiving the Jewish Messiah and His free gift of salvation by His work on the cross, the Father will not see our sin but will see us in Yeshua and His righteousness.  We are seen as One In Yeshua. (Galatians 3:22-29)  That is the whole purpose of human marriage.  It is a picture of two becoming one, and showing the relationship of Yeshua and His Bride. (Ephesians 5:31)  This came about for the first time when the Holy Spirit first came to dwell permanently in peoples hearts on the Biblical Feast of Shavuot, known as Pentecost. (Ephesians 2)  It is now the Holy Spirit that supervises the law within those people who have received their Jewish Groom Yeshua!

When people teach that we should not practice the Feasts they are in effect doing the same thing Pharaoh did.  Whether they realize it or not they are inhibiting this picture from going forth that proves Yeshua is the Messiah.  Yahuwah even refers to those people as a kind of Egypt because they are doing what Pharaoh did.  This can be seen in the King James version of Scripture where Yahuwah addresses those people who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles in the Millennial reign of Yeshua.  It says:

“And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD [Yahuwah] of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. {18} And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD [Yahuwah] will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. {19} This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.”  (Zec 14:17-19 KJV)

Take note that Yahuwah mentions Egypt specifically and the other nations in general.  Pharaoh was the leader of Egypt and the first one to inhibit the Jews from celebrating a feast of Yahuwah.  Yahuwah dealt with him and He will deal with all people who inhibit the Feasts by not celebrating them or influencing others not to.  Notice from the Scripture above that at first Yahuwah will warn them with no rain.  But if they still refuse to celebrate the feast He will then smite (kill) them.  Likewise He gave Pharaoh many chances but Pharaoh continued to reject Yahuwah's command to let His people have this event that was to establish the Betrothal to His Bride.  Many people have never received the “rain” of the Holy Spirit that comes when Yeshua lives in your heart.  They have never been shown that Yeshua is the Messiah as revealed in these Holidays.  They have died in their slavery to sin.

So lets not be like Pharaoh  Lets teach the Feasts to our children and to our children's children so that they will know Yeshua is Messiah and turn to Him and dwell with us in eternity.  Do not let a man made denomination become an idol to you by following it's rules instead of Yahuwah.  Follow Yahuwah and His Word and His Spirit, for...

“The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let him who hears say, 'Come!' Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.” (Rev 22:17 NIV)
