The Birth of On Eagle's Wings (Page 2)
As we were making plans to start On Eagle's Wings we received a Word from the Lord through a close friend.  He said that we had been praying to the Lord for clear guidance on how to accomplish our ministry.  Which was true, we had been doing that.  He also said that the Lord had heard our prayer and that He was going to give us that guidance very soon.  He also said that the Lord wanted to make it perfectly clear that when He does give us that clearer vision we had better do it.

At about this same time we shared with Al and Lou Falch what the Lord was directing us to do.  We asked if they would pray about coming on board with us as directors in the corporation.  They said that they would pray about it and we made plans to meet.  Then Lou mentioned to Teri that Brenda needed to come to the meeting as well.  She could sense that the Lord was going to have her be a part of it.  She also shared how Brenda had seen a TV program about Jews in Siberia, Russia and how, at the same time, Hannah (an 8 year old girl) had drawn  a picture of an eagle's head.

After going home, I began to think about Siberia and looked at a map.  I noticed it was very close to Alaska and Nome in particular.  I found that Nome was an International Port of Entry and had an aviation organization there.  They actually sell charter flights into Russia for fun.  I began to realize that Nome could be a place the Lord would have us start.  So I gave the matter to prayer.  The more we prayed about it, the more it began to seem like the Lord was going to have us go there.  But again, just as before the Lord did not confirm it right away.  Then not too long after that my family and I were driving in our truck and talking about how this seemed so right.  Then my son David said something that was quite funny.  He said "Well Dad... your friend did say that the Lord would make it Nome".  I responded by saying "Yah, Yah, the Lord said He would make it known".  David then said, "No Dad, I said He would make it Nome".  We then all laughed  and just continued to delight in the possibilities of what God may do.

Then later that same day the Lord gave us more of His plan.  We began thinking about how we could set up a mission in Nome in order to give the Gospel to the Jews.  Another thought that came to mind was to teach them the Hebrew language and about the prophetic nature of their return to Israel.  As soon as those elements were in place in my mind the Lord confirmed the ministry to us.

Again, this was one of the happiest times in our entire life.  We could sense from Scripture and the Lord's call that Nome was probably going to become a boom town once again.  Only this time the gold would consist of God's precious people, the Jews.  We could sense even further that the ministry was so much bigger than we were.  We were totally overwhelmed with joy that God would use us in such an awesome ministry.  We were truly given a privileged position.  Because we were not only going to be flying Jews to Israel, but we were also going to be leading them to their Messiah, Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) and leading them Home.  The Lord also made it clear that it is going to be a beautiful poetic picture of God bringing a people back to Himself.

In regards to our thoughts that Nome could become a boom town once again, let me share with you some Scripture that God showed us.  It's found in Deuteronomy 32:9-12:

"For the Lord's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.  He found him in a desert land, and in a waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.  As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange God with him". (KJV)

So you see, the Jews are God's inheritance.  They are His treasure.  He is bringing them back as He had promised.   Let's look directly at many Scriptures that speak of just some of His promises regarding their return:

Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) 49:22 reads:
This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders. (NIV)

Then in Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) 49:11-13 it reads:
I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up. See, they will come from afar-- some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan." Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. (NIV)

Then in Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) 49:16-23 it reads:
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Your sons hasten back, and those who laid you waste depart from you. Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you. As surely as I live," declares the LORD, "you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride. "Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away.  The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing, 'This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.' Then you will say in your heart, 'Who bore me these? I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up? I was left all alone, but these--where have they come from?'" This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders.  Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed." (NIV)

In Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) 66:8-14 God says this:
Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children. Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?" says your God. "Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her. For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance." For this is what the LORD says: "I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees. As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem."   When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes. (NIV)

Then in Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) chapter 60 verses 1-5 it reads:
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.  Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.  "Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm.  Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (NIV)

Then going down to verse 8 it reads:
"Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests?  Surely the islands look to me; in the lead are the ships of Tarshish, bringing your sons from afar, with their silver and gold, to the honor of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.  "Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion.  Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night, so that men may bring you the wealth of the nations-- their kings led in triumphal procession.  For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined.  "The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the pine, the fir and the cypress together, to adorn the place of my sanctuary; and I will glorify the place of my feet.  The sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.  "Although you have been forsaken and hated, with no one traveling through, I will make you the everlasting pride and the joy of all generations.  You will drink the milk of nations and be nursed at royal breasts. Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.  Instead of bronze I will bring you gold, and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones. I will make peace your governor and righteousness your ruler.  No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.  The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.  Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.  Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor.  The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly." (NIV)

Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) 62:1-11 reads:
For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.  The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.  You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord's hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.  No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah ; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married.  As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.   I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.  The LORD has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: "Never again will I give your grain as food for your enemies, and never again will foreigners drink the new wine for which you have toiled; but those who harvest it will eat it and praise the LORD, and those who gather the grapes will drink it in the courts of my sanctuary." Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations.  The LORD has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.'"  They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD; and you will be called Sought After, the City No Longer Deserted. (NIV)

In Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) chapter 40 verses 1-2 (NIV) the Lord says:
Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.  Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for...

We all know that her sin has been paid for by Jesus' Sacrifice on the cross.  God is commanding us to speak tenderly to the Jews to proclaim this fact.
In the next verses 3-5 God continues by saying:

A voice of one calling:  “In the desert, prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.  Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain shall become level, the rugged places a plain.  And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it.  For the Lord has spoken.” (NIV)

You see what is happening here!  The Lord is gathering His children because He is returning soon.  Just like John the Baptist called in the wilderness, we will be calling in the wilderness of Alaska and Siberia preparing the way for the Lord’s return.    We will make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God by using aviation.  This will in effect raise every valley and the mountains will be as level.  The rugged places will be as smooth as a plain.  The glory of the LORD will be revealed as He saves Israel.  All mankind together will see it.

The Lord has also given us this special Word.  He says,  "...You who bring good tidings to Zion go up on a high mountain.  You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; Say to the towns of Judah, 'Here is your God'.  (Yeshahyahu (Isaiah) 40:9 NIV)
